Excellent. I did not know that there are others out there who value this movie as I. At its release, I did not really "get it". Not until a second and an immediate third watch did I suddenly expereince a "Joe" epiphany. I was just like Joe. Struggling through life's crooked road. Looking for a 'life goal'and wading through an ambiguous sea of potential and disappointments. Joe thought me that sometimes you just have to jump and let the fates cast you where they want. More than likely the experience could lighten the load 'just a bit'. Thank you for offering this forum and homage to a film that to this day keeps my 'life' load light and introspective.
Bravo!!!!!

I really love this film. :)
It's a good film to relax and unwind too.. So... I am really glad there are other people that appreciate the film, and have made a nice website about it. :D
good day.

Let me start by saying thanks for the great site and for keeping the torch burning. I always come back to Joe whenever friends start rattling of their favorite movies and sometimes I just need to to know that I'm not alone here.

I may have found something kind of cool, thanks to the map your site provided as to where the shipwreck of the tweedle-dee supposedly happened. Not far from your "x marks the spot of shipwreck" were the words "Splashdown - May 26, 1969" printed on the map. Interesting... I looked up that date and that was where Apollo 10 returned to earth, a shipwreck of sorts. The beautiful thing is that Apollo 10 DIDN'T land on the moon, it orbitted the moon and was the nearest approach we made before landing there in Apollo 11, (and was just three Apollo's before Joe went into space with Kevin Bacon and that dude who almost killed them all, but I digress). How about this representing the fact that before the ship got hit by lightening, Joe was close to breaking out of his doldrums, but it took one more mission for him to "reach the moon" and realize how big life really is?! OK, maybe I need to get a little more fresh air, but it was your map that put me up to this! Alrighty, keep up the good Joe work, friends. Uvaldo "Waldo" Garcia

Joe vs. the Volcano has always been one of my most favorite movies. I used to work in a video as a teenager and it was one of the movies that I watched every day! I worked there for three years, so I guess you could say I "watched" it over 900 times easily! I recently found this site while trying to figure out if it was availabel yet on DVD, thanks for the site! I love it!

I've noticed several references to a "Joe" DVD. I've never been able to find one. Can anyone recommend a source or have a copy to sell. I'm willing to pay top dollar.
Thanks.

Joe Rocks. Although I've long since stopped trying to justify this point of view to . . . well, anyone. Nice to find a place where that's not necessary. I once saw Tom Hanks (on 'Biography'?) talking about the movie, and he said that he loved the script and thought it would be a hit. Maybe that's a reason for the homage that Jackie from S.C. wrote about (4/11). Anyway, nice site. One of my favorites: "I want those catalogs, Joe!" - "Then please order them."

"Joe Versus the volcano" es una gran historia donde resaltan los verdaderos valores que debemos seguir los seres humanos y nos enseña a dejar atraz las preocupaciones que muchas de las veces nos ahogan y no nos permiten ver que hay mas alla, o hasta donde podriamos llegar si nos sintieramos libres y solamente lo intentaramos.

A had never actually seen the movie all the way through until I saw it on cable a few weeks ago. I love this site. I was looking for some good criticism on the film and in-depth insights into the symbolism and subtleties of it. I found all of that here. I want to use the DVD to develop a series of classes in Christian education this fall. The information here will help.

I love everything about this movie. At one of the most difficult times in my life I picked up a copy of the video and it was such an encouragement. "Live like a king, die like a man. That's what I say, what do you say?"
