Georges Delerue (1925-1992) scored many films over his 30 year plus career. CD soundtracks were issued for the following films and represent him at his best:
- Steel Magnolias #
- Chouans !
- Our Mother's House / The 25th hour
- A Summer Story #
- Curly Sue #
- The French Revolution #
- Black Robe #
- Man Trouble
- Rich in Love (he collapsed with a fatal stroke moments after scoring this film !)
- Dien Bien Phu
- Jules et Jim
- The Day of the Dolphin #
- A Show of Force #
- The Escape Artist
- A Walk with Love and Death
- The Pick-up Artist #
- Tours du Monde, Tours du Ciel #
- Paul Gaugin #
- Les Deux Anglaises et le Continent #
- Le Complot ( To Kill a Priest ) #
- King of Hearts / Viva Maria
- Les Tribulations d'un Chinois en Chine
...plus many others. Varese Sarabande issued a 3 CD set, still available with a summary of some of Delerue's 1980's scores....astoundingly beautiful !

I just watched the 1992 movie "Man Trouble" with Jack Nicholson and Ellen Barkin and saw the musical score was by Georges Delerue. The recurring romantic refrian which ran through the movie reminded me so much of the music in "Joe Versus the Volcano." - Tender, haunting, and romantic. The movie is out in DVD as part of a two movies in one package (Along with the move "Class Action" - a strange combination) and only cost $5.50.If you enjoy Delerue's music, may I suggest you give it a look and a listen. I'm going to check and see what other films he scored. I'm sure they all have his magical touch. Also, I read the comments about "Stranger than Fiction" and rented the movie. It does have some of the tone and texture of "Joe," and I enjoyed it. I must say though, it doesn't come close to JVTV, but then not much does. My best to everyone.

Thanks for the input, Mark. Absolutely agree with your 'Stranger Than Fiction' assessment. More than worthy of Joe fans.

Just wanted to chime in, and tell you all about another movie that has caught my fancy and has me convinced that JVTV fans will love it too. Stranger Than Fiction, and yes, the one with Will Farrell (not the Jim Jarmasch one). Don't let that put you off, I wouldnt post it here if it didn't have serious JVTV merit, and after many viewings, I think it is worthy.

A crooked path indeed - and it has led so many here (thanks for keeping the site going) to share how much the movie has meant to them. I return when I need to "save my soul" and be reminded of how big life is and how thankful I should be for it.
And those "Joe Moons" still float in the sky when they are most needed and most appreciated. I'm glad all here see them too.

I was watching A Royal Year on PBS when a PBS ad came on. The background instrumental music immediately grabbed my attention. It only took me a few seconds to recognize Marooned Without You. I couldn't remember the lyrics which I had gotten mostly by replaying the VHS credits over and over so I decided to see if I could find them online. I was so happy to find them easily. Then I decided to visit your site.It was such a pleasure to see that there are people out there who continue to love Joe as much as I do. When asked what my favorite movie of all time is, I don't even have to think about it. The first time we saw it my husband thought it was funny but stupid. After being forced to watch it a few times he finally came to his senses. It's like Shakespeare, who taught me everyting I need to know about the human heart, You either get it or you don't. Anyway, as I continue to walk my crooked path I love the idea that whenever I see a big moon coming up I'm connected with nany other people who had no idea it could be so big and are thankful for their lives
