Oops, I forgot the luggage. In YGM, TH also jokes with MR that she's never going to have to buy new luggage if her e-mail friend is the zipper repairman. Another YGM-JVTV link.

After seeing You've Got Mail, I went back to see JVTV for the first time. These are very, very different movies, but I noticed several links between YGM and JVTV. The TH character's name is Joe in both movies. In YGM, there are several dialogues about Meg Ryan's character being brave and daring to do something different with her life. Later she also talks about her e-mail friend having insights into her soul. In YGM, Joe and his father drink martinis. Finally, there are the daisys, the MR character gets a large bouquet of daisys, her favorite flower, from TH in YGM. Coincidence? Or did Nora Ephron consciously make these links to the first TH/MR movie?

Thank you for making this site. As others have expressed, it's nice to know there are people out there who are awake and appreciate the movie. I happen to be an athiest, but Joe's epiphany beneath the moon struck my soul. Even some of my good friends don't get this movie--which in a weird way makes it kind of special to me.
(By the way, does anybody else think that the lightning bolt looks like a question mark?)

Great site, I thoroughly enjoyed the essays and I appreciate that someone compiled them. Also the sound files are a blast. Hell, really I'm just thankful someone outside of my sphere likes the movie as much as all my friends and I do.

It's amazing to see a relativly small number of people who admire this movie so passionately. I tell people about the movie and their usual remarks are, "Ya I saw it. It was stupid." I encourage them to 'see' it again and they usually end up loving it. The first time I saw Joe was in high school, after watching it, I bought the movie and now consider it as one of my most valuable posessions. It's wonderful to put in this amazing movie into a VCR and be able to change not only you day but you life.

My husband and I just watched JVTV again last night - so how oddly serendipitous that we stumbled across your website today. Unlike Joe's flat, this is a nice place you've got here! We watch this movie any time the Mr. Waturi's of our lives get us down, and we always find something new and inspiring in every scene. We are in a total state of amazement that others feel the same way.

Its nice to find appreciation for this very special underrated film. I knew when i saw it when it came out that it was an instant classic in my book! And i was lucky enough to see it in a huge theater with THX sound! There is no other way to see that wonderful "Moon Rise"! Anyone who needs a Letterboxed copy of film just email me! Joe fans Rule, Waponi Wu forever!
