Based on the previews I saw nearly ten years ago, I probably never would have bothered seeing Joe vs the Volcano, but a good friend persuaded me to go. Thank Heavens I didn't miss this gem of a movie! On the whole it is superb, and the subtle philosophy interwoven throughout is unpretentious and wonderfully mingled with humor. The shot of the delirious but grateful Joe on the raft with the rising moon in the background is as poignant a scene as any movie presents that I recall. An exceptional movie to be sure!

When I tell people this is my favorite movie they either have never seen it or it hasn't made any impression. It is nice to see others that get the same inspiration from the film as I do. I might even add a page about it on my website... we will see.

You're coming into Focus! This is a fantastic website and I just wanted to tell everyone that I just saw the movie for the first time the other night with my boyfriend and we both agree: it's one of the most inspirational films of all time.
